This is a response to Uintah's Elementary School's stupid-ass policy, enforced by Salt Lake City District spokesman Jason Olsen, having school lunches taken away from children because of lack of fundings. LACK. OF. FUNDINGS?! Kids wait in line with their trays of food ready to sit down and eat because they have been sitting in classes the entire morning, and have become extremely hungry. I find it pretty fucking appalling when a cafeteria cashier or a staff member of the cafeteria takes the child's lunch, throws it in the trash, gives them milk, and a piece of fruit to eat. ALL BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T PAY?! WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO FREE LUNCHES?!! THESE KIDS NEED TO EAT! BECAUSE YOU'RE MAKING THEM WORK IN THE CAFETERIA IN ORDER TO GET THEIR LUNCHES, THAT IS GOING ONE STEP TOO FAR! I CAN UNDERSTAND IF IT WAS A HOMELESS PERSON WHO WAS WANTING TO GET SOMETHING TO EAT, AND THEY WORKED FOR THEIR MEAL, BUT NOT MAKING A CHILD WORK JUST SO HE/SHE CAN FUCKING EAT!!!
You are setting up these kids to not only starve to death, but also making them targets of ridicule and bullying, and being called poor, damn it! IT'S A FUCKING $2.00 LUNCH!!! IT'S NOT PRIME RIB, LOBSTER, FILLET MIGNON, OR A MOTHERFUCKING PLATE OF EXPENSIVE SUSHI! IT'S A SCHOOL LUNCH, FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!!! These children need to eat at school until they get home... they need something to sustain them until dinner timer! DURING MY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL YEARS, IF I DIDN'T HAVE ANY MONEY FOR LUNCH, IT WAS MANDATORY FOR CAFETERIAS TO OFFER FREE OF CHARGE, A FUCKING PEANUT BUTTER & JELLY SANDWICH TO SAID KID! IF I WAS IN THAT POSITION, LIKE YOU ASSHOLES WERE DOING BY THROWING AWAY THESE KIDS LUNCHES BECAUSE IT WAS POLICY, I WOULD SAY "HERE, TAKE YOUR LUNCH, AND EAT," FIRE ME, SEND ME MY FINAL CHECK IN THE MAIL! SOME OF THESE KIDS DON'T EVEN HAVE FOOD AT HOME, AND YOU DON'T DEPRIVE THEM OF A MEAL! YOU DON'T TAKE THE LUNCHES FROM THE LITTLE ONES!! RATHER IT WOULD BE FISH STICKS, CORN DOGS, A FUCKING CAN OF CREAM CORN, I DON'T REALLY GIVE A SHIT! NO KID SHOULD GO HUNGRY! ALREADY, YOU HAVE PARENTS WHO ARE PISSED OFF AT THIS SHIT! HELL, EVEN ONE OF THE CAFETERIA WORKERS WERE CRYING AT THIS SIGHT BECAUSE ONE LITTLE GIRL HAD HER FOOD TAKEN FROM HER! FUCK THE POLICY! WRITE TO THE SCHOOL, WRITE TO THE GOVERNOR OF UTAH AND TELL THEM THAT THIS POLICY IS FUCKING STUPID! INSTEAD OF WORRYING ABOUT FUNDING WARS, WHY DON'T YOU USE THAT MONEY TO PAY THE KIDS' LUNCHES GODDAMN IT?! (Lord forgive me for taking Your name in vain) LET THE KIDS EAT THEIR LUNCH AND STAY THE FUCK OUT OF THEIR BUSINESS!

Wouldn't have been better to just let the kids have their lunch and to finish it than to throw it away? Not only is that sickening to do to kids, but it's wasteful. Someone needs to be fired :/

If there's any part of school funding that should be cut, it's the competitive athletics departments. You don't learn any valuable skills there that you can't learn elsewhere (Teamwork? Get a cooking class. The ones I took had everyone in groups. You'll also learn how to cook), and there's plenty of other sports sources.

I digress, seeing as my mind was on the upper grades of the public schools. I have no personal experience with public elementary schools, as I was never in the public system until Junior High. All of the private schools I went to before then never had a food service, so I was bringing my own lunches everyday. And if I had no lunch, I'd either go hungry, or a friend would be kind enough to share. KINDNESS! Where is that taught? Going on an MLP tangent here, the elements of harmony. Kindness, generosity, loyalty, honesty, and laughter. There are no classes for those very important things. Tests? Watch them lie just to pass. Put them in a situation where they have to give something in order to pass? They'll give, but only for their own sake. Team them up with someone they don't like? Betrayal may occur outside the lesson/class. The solution to this problem is the ever-diminishing recess. And lunch does not count towards that time. Most kids are too busy eating to bother with talking to anyone outside their own group, if they have one.

Schools are supposed to be places for kids to learn critical skills, and adequate nutrition is a big part of that. When hungry enough, the body reshuffles energy to look for food, weakening the ability to learn until a consistent source of nutrition is found. You can't learn very well on an empty stomach. Dark classrooms don't help either.

That's ridiculous! It was the same at my highschool. $2.00 lunch and PB and J if you didn't have money. They shouldn't be allowed to this! Some kids don't have parents that even pay much mind to them, let alone make them something to eat, heck kids in my old elementary school would even come to school with no coats on! Why don't they cut the superintendants or "big wheels" at the top? Oh, of course not, let's take something away from the kids. Tax dollars really at work right there.  (Sorry, I'm in a pissed mood right now, too)
